Art Expo

On December the 4th, 2020 We had an Art Expedition.
The whole school went for an Art walk and saw brilliant art in different Classes.
I saw Parsifal art and the room 3 division-ism art.
I liked room 3's art because they made food as their art and the burger they made was getting me hungry.
I also loved the Pacific art because the lines were so symmetric.

Kate Sheppard

Kate Sheppard was a protester, born in 1847 Who migrated to the country New zealand. 

She started protesting in 1893 about women's rights and met her husband walter allan Sheppard and had a son named Douglas and was born in 1880 in Christchurch, New zealand.

Kate Sheppard was a member in the National Council Of Woman Of New Zealand, then promoted women's suffrage by organising petitions and public meetings.

Then became the first president of the NCOWONZ in 1896.

That's when she moved the protest to britain and planned to move all around the world, but with bad health conditions she moved back to new zealand, but still continued the protest. 

And that's when Kate Sheppard changed the world and made New Zealand the first country to start a political party!

Back in the 1890's An African-American lady named Rosa was sitting on the bus, until the bus driver told her to move to another seat, but she refused to be treated like a secondary citizen.

This story has to be my favourite because a girl named Rachel who had a birthday and turns eleven.
she is very excited to eat cake with her papa and her mom.
after the day is half way through she cant recall of feeling eleven, as if she still feels ten.
then goes to class and this stretchy red sweat shirt then the teacher, forcefully handed the sweatshirt to Rachel and she kept telling her no but the teacher was to stubborn to believe if she was lying or not, and that ruined the day of her birthday.

The Fun Friday

On Friday the 18th of September, We had teach instructors for their Tuvalu culture.
We did dance's and the heads, shoulders,knees and toes song in the Tuvalu language.
I mostly liked the vulu dance because it was very fun and we learnt the lyrics of the song we were Dancing to.
The most favourite thing is when she told us about the story of a girl who wanted a very strong oil and made it herself and it is a legend.

This is our teacher that us the boy dance, her name is and her sister was teaching the girls while we learnt the basics.
She taught us to bend our legs and we learnt the moves off by heart.
We all got wonderful teachers, and it was only 6 takes of the dance to get it.

Back in the early 2000s we had a great life without technology, instead we had nature and kindness Now nothing in this world is unhealthy and we need to change.

Cross Country 2020

On 11 of September Friday, We had cross country.
Me and my friend Donte and Valeli ran together so we all came tie.
We had fun sitting together by the grass excited for the run.
I'll always have memories of this school and my best friends.

We even had an everyday theatre with manu and played a game called the game master.

Task Description: I like this slide because its easy and we learned a lot of things
that we didn't know.

Myth

Once Upon a time there was a kid named Jake.

He was named after his father to Garrett the great,
the former king and strongest warrior in the land. 

Garrett was a destroyer, known for slaying dragons and
mythical beasts such as the basilisk.

Jake always remembered his father's words as he died.

“Slay the last mosasaurus and keep the name” then he died.

Jake had friends nearby where the north side wall was and they
have been around for centuries, hence their immortal.

Jake had something inside himself though like a power within.

He heard that his father was another species than human and his
mother was an angel in everyone’s eyes.

That's when Jake was thinking about his parents and his power
within until there was an earthquake and a golem was trying to attack,
so Jake attacked using what he felt inside and remembered his father's words.

Just then he felt himself running on four legs and everything turned black.
After he woke up with everyone around him staring in shock.

He had turned into a werewolf, he was dizzy but the golem was destroyed
so he ran away crying at whatever he became.

He never looked back and hasn't been seen ever since.

Only on 31 of October.

And that's why they call it Halloween.

ICT Outdoors

For this slide we read an interesting story about a kid who needed to help her
Teacher from a virus that was shutting her down.
So the student helped her and she got back to normal in just a couple of days using
An antivirus chip.

Taha Hinengaro Learning About Tonga

Its Tongan language week, and we have been learning about its country and facts about it.
Tonga is a famous country is the 175th largest country in the world counting of its area.

My favourite food is KFC and my favourite drink is Sprite.

I love playing soccer and listening to music.

Skateboarding is very fun for me because I can do many tricks.

I have 12 siblings, and love to minecraft,call of duty and

The reason why is because P.E helps me get more fit and stay healthy.

It also teaches me that even being young doesn't mean it will last forever.

When we exercise it gives our muscles a good look on the outside and on the in.

For Example, if we would want to stay healthy and fit, then how are we going to stay that way?

We would need to exercise and not be lazy all the time.

Being a fit and healthy person can encourage others in ways we wouldn't have known.

And doing a favor like that is worth the good health and muscle.

Doing exercise is good for your body and can help you that you didn't know before.

Immersion assembly

On 20th july, We had immersion assembly and this terms focus is A World Of Difference.
We all had movies to watch and our school principals and our 2 inspiring leaders telling us about themselves and what country they are from.

That's when we learned that mr sommerville is a lord and mr jacobson's grandfather had a part in world war one. I mostly liked mr sommerville because his generation has been kings for a very long time.

But the first movie that we watched was all about how team 1 are thinking how other people go to school, especially how the switzerland people go to school, because they use snow skis.
and the chinese ones go on water, and the egyptians go on camel pass the pyramids.

and i like how team 5 did a very cool play which was about sana and the eel, it was funny because mrs telea was the eel.

Today, RM 5 and RM 1 played ki o rahi together.
We played as attack first and had to throw the ball at the tupu and who ever got the most points won.
Rm 5 and Rm 1 were in different teams, we were in the pink team and Rm 1 was in the yellow team.
We tied the game because we scored the most points to shoot the tupu.

it was cool because we had to courts taen up.

genomics fun day!

On October 30th,
glen brae and glen innes visited point england school  for genomics.
when they came we showed them the point england way by dividing them into classes and we introduced ourselves.
when it was morning tea we stayed in and started working on sharing our genomics with the glenbrae and glen innes.
during lunch we got to eat some of the food leftover from what glenbrae were supposed to eat, there was sandwiches and biscuits.
it was even more fun learning along with the glenbrae students.
i love it i wish it could happen again, but about science.

And i wrote about the first option a what if story.
My what if story was about what if i had infinite money.

Kensuke's kingdom

This week we read about kensuke's kingdom.
Kensuke's kingdom is about a kid named michael lost their jobs as brick work's, so they traveled the World but while michael was on lookout with his dog an enormous storm came and made the boat Crash and as him and stella drifted away from the boat, michael woke up at an island.
When michael was walking around the island he found an chinese man named kensuke, kensuke told Michael that he pulled out of the water.
Then kensuke taught him how to fish using a spear and find the best food such as red bananas.
That's when kensuke drew a line across the beach and told him that he gets half of the island to Himself.
So michael lit up a fire when junk (a boat) passed by, but kensuke put out the fire before the boat Could see it and then it calmly passed by, then michael got mad and crossed the line and tried Swimming in the water to get home, but he only got a several metres before getting stung by a Jellyfish.
After, kensuke saves michael and then he tells him that he survived the world war II and was a medic There as well and that his family died during the war.
After that michael found a cave full of apes and kensuke told him that he had an orangutan named Kikanbo, then later heard gun shots and when they checked the area they saw that a boat was leaving With people with guns (they were shooters).
Later, a boat came but it wasn't shooters it was his parents they were coming to each island to find Him, but as michael hopped on the boat kensuke told him that he was going to stay because they was His island and that he has to take care of his people and his kingdom.
And we made This slide about the story.
I liked the story it reminded me about castaway and how tom hanks gets stuck on an island and uses His skills of survival because any story or movie with survival i like.

Identifying 2d shapes

This week we have been learning about 2d shapes that we or maybe you didn't know of.
First, we learnt what a quadrilateral is a four sided shape and that vertices= corners.
Then we learnt what a trapezoid and a rhombus is, a trapezoid is a four sided shape that has two sides facing the same direction and the other two are going across, and the rhombus is a four sided shape that all sides are the same length.

WK 5 Symmetry Shapes

This weeks slide we have been drawing and learning about symmetry by using lines
To draw the other halves of the shape.
My favourite part about this slide is that we could draw our own shape of symmetry
Because it was very easy.
After that we had to check again to see if there was an extra line of symmetry.
I learned that symmetry has more than on line of the other half depending on the shape.

WK 5 Geometry And Fast Facts

For this work we had to name the shapes in several slides and on the other
Slides we did fast facts, next to it we added up the numbers of money from the
Division word problems we had to do.
I liked the fast facts better because it was the easiest part of this slide, also i

The Amazing Structure of the earth

What we learned this week was the structure of the earth.
The earth has five layers and here is all of them
1. Inner core
2.outer core
3.lower mantle
4.upper mantle
5.crust
Learning about these five layers were interesting because
most of them were made out of different things such as,
silicon,magnesium and aluminium.

how to be a good leader

How to be a Good Leader

Do you know what a good leader is, and what they act like? Some people act like a leader in a simple way, like opening a door for someone, or saying please and thank you, while others are leaders for huge companies. This essay is about how to be a good leader, and what responsibilities you need to be a good leader.

If you want to be a great leader, then always be respectful. For example, if you want to be a trusted leader, then always tell the truth and never lie. If you want to be a responsible leader, then do important jobs, and do things like looking after some kids, or listening to someone in a meeting the whole time.

Another way to be a good leader is to be brave. A way to show your brave is if someone wants someone to say a speech, put your hand up and say the speech. Another very important way to be a good leader is to help other people be a leader. Tell them what to do to be a good leader, and make sure they are listening to you.

Another way to show you are a good leader is by being loyal to one another. For example, if your a kid, and your mum tells you to do something, like clean the dishes, then say ‘yes mum’ instead of argue with her. That is a really good way to show you're a good leader.

Those are some really good ways to show that you are a good leader. If you do what is written in this essay, then you will be a good leader.

 

Hope you use these in the future because if you do then people will think of you as a good person.
